Tonight from 6-9:30 is Black & White Night at the Golden History Center (923 10th St.).  They’re opening a new exhibit:  Calendar Girls to Cowboys: The Art of Selling Coors.  They’ll have appetizers, drinks, a silent auction, and a lot of history lovin’ guests.  As fund-raisers go, this one is pretty affordable–$35 for members, $45 for non-members–and it’s a lot of fun!

Tomorrow Barb Warden* is giving a slideshow/lecture on Historic Tourism in Golden at the Quilt Museum.  You’ll see our first passenger trains, early motorists, funicular railways, parades, a turn of the century beer garden, 1950s nightlife, opening day at Heritage Square, the dark days of the 1980s, up to the present–the kayak park, First Fridays, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Olde Golden Christmas.  The show starts at 2 PM at 1213 Washington Avenue (map).

* That’s me–the Golden.com webmaster!

Final reminders–the Beer & Chili Festival is this afternoon from 2-5, and the final night of the Radical Reels Tour starts tonight at 7.
