Do you ever wonder how a community in a semi-arid climate came to have so many beautiful gardens?  A good deal of the credit goes to the City, which plants and maintains many public gardens.  We also have two local garden clubs.  The Golden Gardeners Club maintains the rose garden behind the Golden History Center.  The Table Mountain Garden Club is responsible for the “Friendship Garden” at the west end of the Clear Creek History Park.

All three entities (the City and both garden clubs) are sponsoring the 60th Annual Golden Flower Show this weekend.  The show takes place in the Methodist church at 1500 Ford Street, and will be open from 3:30-5 on Friday and from 10-4 on Saturday.  The public is welcome and there is no admission charge.
