Colorado School of Mines’ Hennebach Program in the Humanities is sponsoring a panel discussion tonight at 5 on The ISIS Crisis and the Future of Syria: Options for US Policy.  “The panelists will discuss the effects that ISIS is having on countries in the region and on American interests, and will reflect on the geopolitical landscape in the aftermath of the current turmoil,” said [Hussein A. Amery, Associate Professor in the Division of Liberal Arts and International Studies].  They will also suggest policy measures that the Obama administration should consider in dealing with ISIS and the war in Syria. The event will occur in the Ben Parker Student Center, 924 16th Street (map), in Ballroom C.  It is free and open to the public.

The City will host a neighborhood meeting at Shelton Elementary (420 Crawford Street–map), from 5:30-6:30, to discuss a rezoning request to construct 8 duplexes on part of the Bachman property.  Note that this is not the section of property that the city has purchased for use as a future park–it’s adjacent to it.
