Library Programs, College Fair, Golden Cruise

Yesterday’s Lariat Loop Poker Run drew some fancy cars to Foothills Art Center.  Check out Dave Powers’ photos!

The Library has several events scheduled this week.
Today, 3-4PM, Grades 1-6.  LibLab: Sounds Like Fun!
Potentially noisy, definitely fun! Come explore the science of acoustics in the library laboratory. Create some sound waves and amp up your summer!  Registration is required and will start at 9 am a week before the show. Register online or call 303-235-5275.

Tuesday, 3-4PM and 5:30-6:30PM, All Ages.  Sound Ideas
Sound Ideas with Michael Stanwood is a fun, interactive program that takes us around the world through the wondrous musical instruments he has collected in his travels. A Thai Khaen, Hawaian nose flute, Angklungs from Bali, Australian didgeridu – he plays them all and wants you to play them as well. Add to this some stories and myths from the different cultures and of course some of Michael’s funny silly songs.  Registration is required and will start at 9 am a week before the show.  Register online or call 303-235-5275.

Wednesday, 2-3:30, Ages 11-18.  Bling a Toy with Gold Leaf – Summer Reading
Do you need a little more shine in your life?  Want to feel like a celebrity with a mini Oscar?  Have a small toy that needs a little more glitter?  Bring it to the library and add some sparkle.  Gold leafing has been used on everything from illuminated manuscripts to decorating cakes.  Come to this interactive workshop to learn about leafing and then try this technique on your own trinket.
Ages 11-18.
