The Jefferson Symphony will perform this afternoon at 3, at the Green Center on the School of Mines Campus (map).  The program includes Danzon No.1 (Marquez), On the Waterfront (Bernstein), and Piano Concerto No.1 in F# Minor (Rachmaninov).  Today’s performance features the winner of the International Young Artists Competition, Sherry Kim.  Tickets available online or at the door.

If the blues is more to your taste, head to the Buffalo Rose.  They’re hosting a preliminary to the International Blues Competition, with contenders playing every half hour from 2 until 6.
