111 Years Ago
On August 1, 1912, members of the Denver Chamber of Commerce visited Golden. They arrived in about seventy-five automobiles. Golden citizens greeted them on Washington Avenue. The Industrial School band played for them, and several prominent men gave short talks.

After that, the group visited Lookout Mountain and rode the funicular railway to the top. Rees Vidler, who was developing a resort on the mountain, entertained the visitors.

They finished the day by touring the Coors Brewery and dining under the trees at the Coors residence. Mr. Coors also extended a hearty invitation to Golden residents.
