Happy first day of spring!  Isn’t it nice that the weather agrees with the calendar?

The Mountaineering Museum is hosting a Thirsty Third Thursday tonight.  This is a good chance to see their current exhibit of Bradford Washburn photographs, because admission to the museum is free.  Tonight’s beer is provided by Avery Brewing Company of Boulder.  The event runs from 5:30-8:30, and includes the usual giveaways, plus a chance to win tickets to the Museum’s signature event–the Hall of Mountaineering Excellence on April 5th!

The Colorado Mountain Club’s Denver Fly Fishing Section meets tonight at 7, at the Mountaineering Center.

City Council meets tonight at 6:30.  The Mayor will announce the appointees to the new Downtown Development Authority.  They will be accepting public comment on the Washington Avenue streetscaping.  They will discuss 9th Street parking options again.  There will be a public hearing about a possible new metropolitan district for a new residential development in south Golden.  The City Manager will brief the council on our Emergency Operations Plan.  You can watch the meeting online through the City website or on cable channel 8.
