The Golden Community Center will be closed all week, through Sunday the 24th, for maintenance work.
This is the first day of school for Jeffco Public Schools students. The School of Mines will start classes tomorrow.
This morning, the School of Mines freshmen will participate in an annual tradition called the M Climb. Each student will have brought a 10-pound rock from their home. They will assemble in front of Guggenheim Hall this morning at 7:45 and begin a hike up to the M on Mount Zion. There, they will add their rocks and add a fresh coat of whitewash to the rocks (and each other). Afterwards, they will return to campus and celebrate with a barbecue. Look up at the M at about 10AM, and you may see them in action!
The new Downtown Development Authority will meet tonight at 6:30 at City Hall. Their agenda calls for discussion of downtown holiday lights, repaving Washington Avenue, and possible changes in parking near Foothills Art Center.
