Wearing Orange, Public Meetings, and Barbecue

Did you catch yesterday’s Preview of June Events in Golden?  You can still find it in the blog.

Golden’s City Council is asking you to wear orange today, to raise awareness of gun violence.  Wearing orange on June 2nd will honor the millions of lives lost to gun violence, and inspire others to take action in stopping our national epidemic of gun violence.  Learn more.

The Planning Commission will meet tomorrow night at 6:30 in City Council chambers.  They will consider a plan to build a 109 unit senior apartment building on Golden Gate Canyon Road, just west of Highway 93.  They will hold a public hearing, so the public can weigh in on the new development.  The meeting will be broadcast live (audio only).

The Public Art Commission meets Thursday morning at 9AM in City Council Chambers.  They will see a presentation about maintaining public art and listen to staff’s recommendations for methods of evaluating possible projects.  They will discuss a request by Heritage Dells residents for a new piece of art on the roundabout at Heritage Road & Kimball.  They will also discuss RFPs for some outstanding and future projects, and consider ways to attract more responses.

Horizon Christian Fellowship plans to have a barbecue every Wednesday night at 6 this summer.  The meal will be followed by a worship service at 6:30.  You are invited to join them tomorrow night at Parfet Park (10th & Washington).  Any questions?  Call Pastor Jordan Emerson at 303-668-6136.
