Golden History Moment
The July 23, 1903 Colorado Transcript celebrated the completion of a new Methodist Church at 14th and Washington. The congregation itself had formed in 1860, just a few months after the City of Golden was established.
The 1903 structure replaced a smaller, earlier church in the same location. The congregation moved to their current property at 15th and Jackson in 1962.
The older property was acquired by the hotel next door. The Table Mountain Inn now occupies for original Methodist church location.
Thanks to the Golden History Museum for providing the online cache of historic Transcripts, and to the Golden Transcript for documenting our history since 1866!
