You may recall that last summer brought exceptionally high temperatures and exceptionally low water flow in Clear Creek. This made the Creek a wildly popular draw for both locals and visitors–so much so that we experienced unexpected crowding, parking problems, littering, off-leash dogs, drinking, and erosion of the creek banks. We’re honored to be so popular, of course, but it’s clear that we need to establish some rules so we don’t love the creek to death.
To that end, the City held an open house last month to discuss the Clear Creek Management Plan. Tonight, they’re holding the first of two Public Workshops to discuss the information gathered at the Open House, and to continue forming plans for future management of Clear Creek. Please plan to attend the workshop tonight between 6:30 and 8:30 at the Community Center.
Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves will hold her weekly office hours this morning from 9-11 at the 5th Ring Coffee House. Stop by if you have any issue or concerns that you would like to discuss with her.
