Coffee & Crafts, Museums & Music

Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves is holding her monthly “Coffee with a Councilor” this morning from 10-11 at Bean Fosters.

We have two craft fairs running today. The Methodist Church (1500 Ford St.) is holding their annual Craft Fair from 10-4, featuring more than 25 vendors of hand-made crafts, homemade food, floral arrangements, and artwork.  Lunch with dessert (homemade fruit pies) will be made and served by the women of the church from 11-2. The Golden Terrace Village Community is holding their annual Craft Show & Bake sale today, featuring a wide variety of homemade crafts, baked and canned goods.  This runs 10-4 in their clubhouse, at 17801 W. Colfax.

This is the third and final day of the Golden City Brewery’s 20th anniversary celebration. They will be serving free food, provided by World Wide Vittles and Tin Star Smokehouse.  They’ll also have live music by Coral Creek.  They will be open from 11:30-6:30.

Tonight is the Night at the Museums.  The Astor House, Golden History Center, and Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum will all stay open till 8PM tonight.  It’s a nice night for a walk…why not visit all three?

Acoustic Alley presents Rocky Mountain Jewgrass tonight in the Miners Alley Playhouse.  This group blends traditional bluegrass-style playing with Jewish themes and roots music. Saul Rosenthal (guitar), Gail deVore (fiddle), Eric Roberts (bass) and Ben Cohen (banjo, mandolin and whatever else is needed) bring a little picklin’ and grinnin’ and a high lonesome kvetch to their performances.
