Head to the CSM Geology Museum (1310 Maple Street) tomorrow night for a lecture by Ed Raines: “From The Comstock To Caribou – The Minerals And The Washoe Process.” Socializing and munchies begin at 6:30 p.m.; the talk will start at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Ed Raines – noted expert on Colorado minerals and mining history, the Curator of Mineral Collections at the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum, and past President of the Mining History Association – will present a lecture addressing the historical milling method known as the Washoe Process. The Washoe Process was introduced at the famous Comstock Lode in Nevada and was used to recover metals at the Caribou District, Boulder County, Colorado.
Both the School of Mines and Golden High School are celebrating homecoming this weekend. Tomorrow night at 7, Golden High School will kick off their celebration with a bonfire in the High School parking lot (701 24th Street, Golden, CO – map) at 7PM.
This Saturday, from 9AM-noon, the Hillside Church will host a kids clothing swap. Please consider bringing the following items:
