GODSPELL opens tonight at Miners Alley Playhouse. A mega hit On Broadway, Off Broadway and around the world GODSPELL was radiantly revisited and revived by its composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) With crisp new arrangements and an injection of contemporary references. You’ve probably heard that most of Heritage Square will close after this year. That includes the stores, alpine slide, and Miners Maze Adventureland. The Heritage Square Amusement Park, which includes the rides, go-karts, miniature golf, arcade, and zipline will remain open.
Did you know that Heritage Square originated as Magic Mountain, which was patterned after Disneyland? The Magic Mountain park operated for only one summer, during 1960, before closing due to bankruptcy.
Tomorrow afternoon at 4 (Saturday, 3/28), local historian Rick Gardner and long-time resident Bill Robie invite people to meet at the Square to share memories. The CSM chapter of Engineers without Borders will hold a dinner and silent auction tomorrow night to benefit their Bridges to Prosperity program in Nicaragua.
