You’ve probably heard that most of Heritage Square will close after this year.  That includes the stores, alpine slide, and Miners Maze Adventureland.  The Heritage Square Amusement Park, which includes the rides, go-karts, miniature golf, arcade, and zipline will remain open.

Did you know that Heritage Square originated as Magic Mountain, which was patterned after Disneyland?  The Magic Mountain park operated for only one summer, during 1960, before closing due to bankruptcy.

Tomorrow afternoon at 4 (Saturday, 3/28), local historian Rick Gardner and long-time resident Bill Robie invite people to meet at the Square to share memories.  They are specifically hoping to meet people who remember the original incarnation–Magic Mountain.  Rick has a wonderful retrospective of the park on his website, gardnerhistory.com.  Check it out!
