First, the news for families: the Downtown Merchants will host their annual “Halloween Crazy Days” this afternoon from 3-5. Washington Avenue will be closed off from 11th to 14th Streets. Please remember to thank the merchants–they each spend a fortune on candy for this event!
At 7PM, the Golden Community Cinema will host Ghostbusters at the Mountaineering Center (710 10th St.). Have you ever seen it on a big screen? The doors open at 6. Admission is $5 at the door–cash only. Parking is free and popcorn and drinks are available at very reasonable prices.
Spider Mansion, the haunted house at Heritage Square, will be open until 10 tonight.
The Buffalo Rose has three rock groups performing tonight at “The Bloody Mary’s Halloween Extravaganza.” The Bloody Mary’s play early Black Sabbath, dark Led Zeppelin, and other metal classics. Wolf, is a five-piece band that does classic bluesy rock. Yoko’s Bitches plays rock, blues, punk country, and Motown. They’ve been playing together since 1989. The show starts at 8:15 and admission is $5.
The Ace Hi enjoyed last Saturday’s Halloween party so much that they’re having another one tonight, from 9-1. Costume contest, DJ, and drink specials!
The breweries will be hopping tonight (no pun intended). Golden City Brewery is starting a three day party to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Tonight, enjoy $2 pints and fill your growlers for only $4. Mountain Toad will tap a new Pandan Porter, and will have costumes and candy. Saffron Grill will be on hand, cooking Mediterranean food. Barrels and Bottles is distributing candy during “Crazy Days” (3-5) and will give $1 off a glass of beer or wine to people in costume. Cannonball Creek promises a “Halloween Throwdown.” At 3PM, they release a new Chocolate Pumpkin Porter. At 7, they’ll have a Jack o’ Lantern “Light-Off.” Bring your own Jack o’ Lantern for a chance at a $25 gift certificate. From 8-9, they’ll have a costume contest with a $100 gift certificate as the first prize!
