Jefferson County’s case count page says that as of 3PM yesterday, there were 1,401 cases in Jefferson County (up from 1,349). There have been 75 deaths (up from 73) and 282 are hospitalized (up from 280). There are 106 known cases in Golden (unchanged).
Jefferson County has extended our Stay-at-Home order through May 8th. Everyone is asked to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth when leaving the house. City and County fire restrictions are in place. Clear Creek is closed to all recreational activities.

A Golden History Moment
I’ve been researching the post World War II housing explosion in Golden. After the war, many hundreds of agricultural acres were rezoned and platted as subdivisions. In reading through about 30 years worth of Transcripts, I’ve come across dozens of references to neighborhoods being developed. Some subdivisions were named and some were not. Maybe you’ll recognize some of these names.
