For the next couple of days, we’ll be focused on the bike race and its attendant festivities here in Golden, but don’t forget Sunday’s big event. We’ll be hosting a community rally to cheer on an 18 year old girl who’s running coast to coast (barefoot!) to drum up support for Soles 4 Souls. This program sends our unwanted shoes to developing countries. Those that can no longer be worn are given to microbusinesses for repair and recycling.
Clear out your unneeded shoes now, while you’re thinking about it, and take them to the Golden Visitors Center (1010 Washington Street). Then plan to join us at the Visitors Center from 4-6 on Sunday, for food and entertainment and to cheer on the runner.
Bring your unwanted shoes to the Visitors Center at 10th and Washington by this Sunday.
