The Final Frontier. Plus Quilts. Plus Clay.

The Lookout Mountain Nature Center is offering an interesting program tonight.  Join NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador and Lockheed Martin Propulsion Engineer Adam Pender for this special presentation about NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory rover, Curiosity. Launched in 2011, Curiosity will be arriving on Mars on August 5th. This lecture will discuss the scientific objectives and capabilities of this rover mission, technological challenges faced, and innovative technology solutions that made this mission possible. Ages 10-adult.  910 Colorow Road (map)

Tomorrow night during the First Friday Street Fair two of the downtown museums will host opening night receptions.  The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum will celebrate “Evolutions Quilt Challenge” and “Politics as Usual” from 5-8:30.  Foothills Art Center is opening “Colorado Clay” from 6:30-8:30.  The two museums are only a block apart, so plan to hit both parties (plus the street fair)!
