City Council meets tonight at 6:30. They will conduct a public hearing regarding redesign options for Heritage Road. They will also be considering a change to the way people are appointed to boards and commissions. They would like to accept applications for all boards at the same time, and make all appointments at the same time. Applicants would be asked to indicate which of several boards they would serve. This issue also has a public hearing.
They will also consider a parking issue related to the two empty lots at the corners of 12th and Jackson and 13th and Jackson. A potential developer would like to know whether the city will accept cash in lieu of providing parking spaces for new buildings.
Other topics include support of a playground improvement at Mitchell School, the incentive agreement for Natural Grocers to replace the bowling alley, and agreement to extend the lease of the Brickyard House to Golden Landmarks. See the agenda for the details. The meeting will be shown on Cable Channel 8 and through the City website.
