What’s in a name? (Rose quartz, by any other name…still wouldn’t smell.)

Tonight, the CSM Geology Museum presents the second in their First Thursday Lecture Series.  Leonard Himes will discuss Minerals and their Names.  Dr. Himes earned a PhD in chemistry form the University of Northern Colorado in 2001, after retiring from teaching high school.  Since then, he has been working full-time as a mineral dealer, enjoying having the time to visit collectors from coast to coast.  The lecture is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served, starting at 6:30, and the lecture will begin at 7.  The Museum is located at 1310 Maple St. (map).

City Council will be interviewing candidates for the various city boards tonight, starting at 6:30.  You can watch in person, online through the city website, or on Cable Channel 8.
